What is Freestlye Learning?

What we do

We work with students from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 3, and will discuss provision for older and younger age groups.

We offer personalised, one to one learning for students who are unable to access mainstream environments, or those who feel overwhelmed by the challenges that a busy classroom can bring. We are able to cover a wide variety of subjects, including Maths, English, Phonics, Science and Humanities. With specialisms in sport, rugby and football coaching, behaviour, Autism and SEN we incorporate environmental learning and a sensory curriculum where possible.

Why we do it

We know not everybody learns in the same way. Classrooms can be very overwhelming and this can make it hard to learn, follow the rules, or even go into school at all. We also know that with the right approach, a lot of patience and experience, and a good sense of humour, we can usually find a way. We understand the value in supporting a young person's sensory and emotional needs before learning can happen, and we aim for our students to feel regulated and comfortable during our sessions. Our one to one approach means that learning can be entirely flexible and personalised.

Teamwork
How it works

Schools or parents/ carers are able to contact us directly for a free, no obligation, initial consultation. We will then liaise with teaching staff and families to discuss curriculum and learning targets, along with personal interests and specific needs.

We will send out a visual information pack for the young person, to ensure they know what and who to expect, before arranging an initial meeting at a suitable time and location.

Regular and consistent session will then be scheduled, with clear learning outcomes.

Session progress will be documented and evidenced for continuity of provision across settings.
